Innovator with golden glow Marko Kravar, entrepreneur and innovator from Zagreb and owner and manager of the company Termist, has won valuable prizes for his innovations at technology fair in Malaysia.
At the largest Malaysian fair of innovations, the most successful Croatian exhibitor was Marko Kravar, who was for fender carrier CROFENDER awarded with Main award and gold medal, and for universal boat peg PEG with silver medal – was stated in the report of home press agency Hina, published after return of Croatian innovator representatives from fair Malaysia Technology EXPO (MTE 2011), that was held from 17th to 19th February in Kuala Lumpur. 

 Transformation of mainly organic polymers, plastics, rubber, but even wood, into the useful products in syllabuses at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, has a special place not only in Croatia but considerably wider. One of the reasons is the fact, that there were lectures about production of thermoset products already in the year 1936. From that time derives a beginning of lectures from area of wood and its processing. The course dedicated to learning of the students from one faculty with area of plastics and rubber processing before forty years was rarely even at the world scale. This year is a 40th anniversary of the first registered students at the studies of mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, which attended then coarse of Polymer Processing (wood, plastics and rubber) in 7th semester, the first of that kind in the area of former country, and according to available information, the third in Europe. 

 From 28th to 29th April 2011. year in Opatija was held 11st international conference of foundry industry. Conference was held at the conference hall Mimoza that belongs to the hotel complex Grand Hotel 4 Opatian flowers. The organizers of this prestige foundry conference were: Metalurški fakultet Sisak, Rio Tinto Iron & Titanium GmbH (Eschborn, Germany), Metalska industrija Varaždin d.d., Elkem AS (Oslo, Norway) and Pro Ferrum GmbH (Rijeka). Moreover, the organization was realised with support of Ministry of science, education and sports, of the Republic of Croatia, Academy of technical science of Republic of Croatia, town Sisak, Croatian chamber of commerce, Sisačko-moslovačka county, Mittel Europäische Giesserei Initiative and University of Zagreb. Around 250 participants from 14 countries were participating at the foundry conference. Participants presented 47 scientific-expert papers, from which 24 oral and 23 in poster section. 

 Four expert biennale fairs, Forma tool, Plagkem, Graf&Pack and Livarstvo, that were held during four days in Celje, have visited almost 11 000 visitors. At the fairs organizer, company Celjski sejem d.d., explain that they exceed results from the year 2009., when the fairs were held last time. The result of fair visit confirms positive grades of the events which were collected from exhibitors and visitors. Among them there were many foreigners, mainly from the South Balkan countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia) and from European Union (Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy and Germany). In Celjski sejem d.d. with satisfaction are analyzed results of survey they carried out among exhibitors and visitors because almost all exhibitors were marked as successful or very successful. It was reflected in their answers on question about fulfilled expectations from the fair event. 

 Geometrical tolerances (tolerances of shape and length - GD&T) are despite the fact, that are closer to the list of real functionality of the product than classic tolerances, (the last can be considered as special geometrical tolerances), still considered to be a complex. With aid of 3D-measuring and with leading optical systems for 3D-digitalisation, a large step forward was made in control of mentioned deviations. 

 World economy and financial crisis are in the year 2009. caused slump of selling of industrial robots. In comparison with the year 2008., that was from the selling pint of view one of the best, in the year 2009. the selling was reduced for even 47 %. According to the data from Statistical office of international organisation for robotics IFR, 60 000 sold robots meant the weakest selling of industrial robots since the year 1994. This office every year, in their report, publishes a data about the situation of the robotics in the world.
