Happy new year!
What should happen to make us really happy next year?
The first and foremost is tax cuts. All kinds of taxes and parafiscal levies, under whatever name they are disguised. The second will come from the first - we will invest more in newer and better machines and plants, so production will become more efficient and cheaper, "greener".

10 | Interview: Dr. sc. Igor Čatić: I feel a magical attraction to productionWe arranged a meeting and a conversation at which prof. emer. Igor Čatić gladly responded and came to our Laboratory. We talked for a long time about the University of Zagreb, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, today's research work on projects, international cooperation. Then there was the talk about the state of industry, the connection between industrial production and universities in general, crafts or trades, dual education and many other topics. It was a pleasant meeting with a man who, even in his advanced years, lives for the University, his Faculty and at the same time simply radiates optimism. Interview Dr. sc. 28 | Pirate Art, from Belgrade - We don\'t have legs, but we have a cool storyA team of interesting people from Belgrade that have a true and really cool story - With the support of new technologies, they are working on the development of aesthetic coatings for dentures and produce specific fashion accessories for people without legs. The story was told by the director of the company Nikola Matić.

48 | The largest companies collaborate in demonstration of world\'s most efficient hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engineTUPY SA, a world-leading specialist of casting and machining of highly engineered structural components, Westport Fuel Systems Inc. (TSX/Nasdaq: WPRT), a global leader in alternative fuel, low emission transportation technologies and AVL List GmbH, the world’s largest independent company for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry, jointly announced a collaboration to develop a highly efficient hydrogen (H2) internal combustion engine (ICE) for heavy goods transportation. The direct collaboration aims at combining advanced material and casting technologies with the latest H2 ICE technology using high pressure direct injection (HPDITM). |
62 | Coinjection revolutionPolitical pressure to use recycled plastic materials is growing worldwide. Various countries already stipulate the minimum recycled content for certain products. In the Western US, for example, some market applications require 25 percent recycled content for pails. In addition, many brands do not want the dark colored recycled core material to be visible at the injection point. These trends have driven the development of the new coinjection process. With a recycled material content of more than 30 percent, the 5-gallon pails produced during the ENGEL live e-symposium easily comply with the US specifications, which are very challenging as compared with other international standards. |
112 | Super efficiency is required to process super alloysSuper alloys - metal alloys, which have a complex alloy structure, have long since become one of the main groups of engineering materials. These materials have extremely high temperature strengths and are therefore often referred to as high-temperature superalloys (HTSAs) or heat-resistant superalloys (HRSAs). The history of super alloys begins with the development of gas turbine engines that required reliable materials for high operating temperature ranges. As a result of intensive research and development in metallurgy, modern superalloys (SA) ensure the long-term function of these engines at operating temperatures above 1000 °C. |
130 | Ultrasonic welding module for product quality and freshnessIn today's fast pace of life when purchasing products, we often forget about the freshness of the product. Some fresh products, which we find on store shelves, such as vegetables, fruits, salads, etc., are securely and reliably sealed, in order to remain safe for consumption for a long time. The Swiss company Telsonic AG, which is also a business partner of VIAL Automation d.o.o. from Žalec, developed a high-speed ultrasonic module for sealing foils (Bag Sealing Module - VFFS). 140 | Drastic reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissionsWith systems that deliver variable amounts of gases and liquids, such as coolant filtration systems and lubrication on production equipment, there is often great potential for energy savings. This potential can be exploited with pump management, to accurately ensure the required volume flow. Drastic reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions.pdf

180 | Increased efficiency thanks to robot-assisted machiningEdge removal, polishing and sanding of workpieces are often still done by hand. The reason: until now, "feeling" and visual inspection performed by humans could be implemented with the help of automated tools and robots, but at great cost. However, procedures performed manually not only require a lot of time, but also involve risks for the worker. There is great potential for automation here. |
