EWAG COMPACT LINE – the highly precise and flexible 6-axis grinding centre

The COMPACT LINE from EWAG is a high precision, flexible 6-axis machining centre for grinding turning inserts made of hard metal, cermet, ceramic, PKB and PKD. With high-performance technology in the most compact dimensions, COMPACT LINE sets a new standard in the flexible machining of indexable inserts.
Through the newly developed optional 6th axis, the COMPACT LINE is now also the ideal machine for efficient periphery grinding. Putting protective chamfers on the cutting edges of turning inserts is ensured via the optimized kinematics of the machine as well as the newly developed C-axis. Auxiliary process times are supported by short traversing paths and the smart integration of a Fanuc robot. The fully integrated 6-axis robot optimally supports agile handling and offers very high flexibility for autonomous loading of complex indexable inserts.
The "three-in-one" dressing unit is responsible for the perfect runout of the grinding wheel and high process repeatability. This allows for dressing, regenerating and crushing of the grinding wheels on the same unit.
ProGrind, a user-oriented grinding software, is used in the COMPACT LINE and it fully meets the high expectations placed on it. The FANUC control system is the optimal complement to the software. All grinding programs can be programmed quickly and easily with the user-friendly touch screen panel.
