08.06.2022

• Anniversary: Festive event on 2 June 2022 with high-profile representatives from the parent company
• 75 guests: Great atmosphere at the Open House with exciting live exhibits
• 25th anniversary: Arburg represented by its own subsidiary in Scandinavia since 1997

Arburg has had its own subsidiary in Denmark since 1997. To mark the 25th anniversary, an open house and a festive evening event were held on 2 June 2022. As a high-ranking representative from Lossburg, Guido Frohnhaus, Managing Director Technology & Engineering, presented an anniversary sculpture to Michael Kylling, Managing Director of the Danish subsidiary, in the presence of Steffen Eppler, Director Sales Europe. At the Open House, interested customers were able to see for themselves the Allrounder injection moulding technology and the Freeformers for additive manufacturing.

"I am very impressed by what this team at Arburg Denmark has achieved over the past decades and placed the company among the top three machine manufacturers for plastics processing on the market," Guido Frohnhaus emphasised in his speech on the anniversary evening.

Arburg's 63 year presence in Denmark

The success story began in 1959, when Arburg delivered the first injection moulding machine to a Danish customer: the former company Ulstrup Plast is now part of the large SP Group and still closely associated with Arburg. Søren Ulstrup, son of the company founder, and Frank Gad, CEO of SP Group, attended the 25th anniversary celebration. Another guest of honour was Eddie Oswald, who, as an "Arburg veteran", has played a key role in ensuring that many business contacts in Denmark have been maintained for decades. From 1978, he sold Allrounder injection moulding technology at Arburg’s trading partner HAHN+KOLB before founding E. Oswald Plastteknik A/S in 1995. To better serve its growing customer base and the Danish market, Arburg acquired Eddie Oswald’s company and all its employees in 1997 and appointed him as the first Managing Director of Arburg A/S in Hvidovre. The grand opening took place at the Lego Centre in Billund.

Customer-oriented: comprehensive customer support

In 2007, the team moved into new premises in Greve, located about 30 kilometres south of Copenhagen. In the meantime, Steffen Eppler was interim managing director before Michael Kylling took over the management of the now twelve-strong team in March 2018, half of whom are service technicians. "Above all, our customers appreciate the all-round good service provided by our experienced team," explains Michael Kylling. "We offer customised solutions for smaller plastics processing companies as well as for the large global players in the country." To this end, the subsidiary works closely with colleagues from the German headquarters in Lossburg and from other worldwide locations. Its Allrounders and Freeformers are particularly successful in the medical technology, electronics, construction/building technology and leisure sectors.

Open House with exciting applications

The subsidiary houses a showroom, space for training courses, a spare parts warehouse and offices on 350 square metres of space. The Open House on the occasion of the anniversary also took place there. Three automated injection moulding exhibits were presented live, including a hydraulic Allrounder 270 S compact, as well as a Freeformer 300-3X for industrial additive manufacturing.
