As a leading B2B platform for the plastics, printing and packaging industries in Algeria and across North Africa, the exhibition brings together international manufacturers, technology providers and trade professionals from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

A major focus of the 2026 edition will be on sustainability and industrial modernisation. Key themes include recycling technologies, sustainable materials, resource-efficient production processes and circular economy models. These priorities reflect Algeria’s growing commitment to modern, sustainable industrial development.

The exhibition also supports investment in advanced equipment, helps expand local value creation, strengthens export potential and contributes to reducing reliance on imports.

The return of Sonatrach in 2026, following its first participation in 2025, highlights the increasing importance of an integrated plastics value chain — from raw material production to downstream processing.

Recent market data also points to strong momentum in Algeria’s industrial sectors. Between 2020 and 2024, imports of plastics technology increased by an average of 34.6% per year, making Algeria the largest importer of plastics technology in Africa. The country is also a leading market for packaging technology, with imports reaching EUR 225 million, while segments such as plastic pipes, printing and paper technologies continue to grow.

These developments underline Algeria’s strategic ambition to expand industrial capacity and improve its international competitiveness.

plast & printpack alger is supported by a wide range of international associations and institutions, including ACIMGA, Advantage Austria, AHK Alger, AMAPLAST, the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, the Italian Trade Agency, the Turkish Trade Ministry and VDMA.

With clearly structured exhibition segments covering plastics machinery, print and packaging technologies, and raw materials, plast & printpack alger 2026 offers a complete overview of the latest market trends and technological developments.

plast alger is also part of the K-Alliance, the global umbrella brand under which Messe Düsseldorf brings together its international activities in the plastics and rubber sector.
